Patsy Jean Briggs Morgan passed away on Wednesday, Feb 6, 2019. Patsy was born on December 21, 1938 in King, NC to DeWalden A and Alice Spainhour Briggs. Pat was raised, mostly, in Winston-Salem, NC and graduated from Hanes High School with the Class of 1957. Pat spent the majority of her 80 years in Lewisville, NC. She retired from the Veteran’s Administration after more than 30 years of service.
Pat made friends easily, she smiled easily, she laughed easily and she loved fiercely. She loved life and made the most of it while she was well. Mom was quick to travel, she didn’t need much notice, if you said “let’s go”, she would. She was lucky enough to see a lot of different places, she even rode a donkey up a mountain in Puerto Rico. Her favorite place to be was the beach, especially Oak Island and Holden beaches. Her other passions included Gospel music, the Atlanta Braves and reading. Pat will be greatly missed.
Pat was predeceased by her parents and one Granddaughter. She is survived by her four children:
Tommy Elliott, Kim Elliott Gleason (Ronnie), Amy Elliott Whaley (Ashley) and Christy Morgan Glenn (Tommie). Pat was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, who she loved dearly. She is also survived by one sister, Dee Ann Briggs Goforth (John) of Spartanburg, SC and two nieces, Ginger (Josh) and Katy (Alex).
Pat’s services will be held at Hayworth Miller in Lewisville at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Feb 9, 2019. Chaplain Charlie Patrick will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Any memorials can be sent to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Lane, W-S, NC 27103.
Pat’s family would like to thank her caretakers, Kelly, Debbie, Dolores, Karen and Lorraine, for loving their Mama and taking such good care of her these past few years. These ladies are very special to us.
