Patsy "Pat" Reed Barnes

Walnut Cove – Mrs. Patsy “Pat” Reed Barnes, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on February 2, 1945, in Birmingham, AL to Joseph Alexander Reed, Jr III and Martha Hyche Reed. Pat loved to travel to the beach, to go camping, and fishing. Pat also enjoyed watching football, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide. Roll Tide! Pat also had a love for hummingbirds. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Lawrence “Larry” Barnes; her three children, Dewayne Barnes (Tammy), Gina Edmondson (Willy), and Michelle Wallace (Wayne Dixon); nine grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Heather, Melissa, Bryan, Lauren, Julia, Travis, and Austin; six great grandchildren, Landon, Calvin, Nova, Lyra, Lilly, and Vincent; one sister, Sherrie Hale (Clayton); and many special nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Pat will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
