Paul David "Dave" Bechdolt

We are sad to announce the passing of Paul David Bechdolt, fondly known as "Uncle Dave", of Winston-Salem, NC. He passed away peacefully at home at the age of 68 years old on August 9, 2024, surrounded by his family.

He was born on May 12, 1956, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Carl Eldridge Bechdolt (2011) and Virginia Mae Gartin Bechdolt (2022).

Dave graduated from East High School in 1974.

He always brought a smile to his caregivers’ and family members’ faces and will be greatly missed by all.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Cheetham; and his niece, Elizabeth Ann Carson.

Those left to cherish Dave’s memory include his sister, Donna Bechdolt Gibson; nieces, Mandie Cheetham Metzger (Chris Metzger and children, Timothy, Adam, and Laura Metzger), Cynthia Carson (son, Alex Kinsey), Martha Cheetham McKenna (Andy McKenna and children, Molly and Ian McKenna), and Corie Myers (Travis Myers and children, Mason, Madi, Morgan, and Mackenzie); and nephews, Randy Cheetham (Shannon Cheetham and children, Ella Cheetham and Noel Drown), Rick Cheetham (Cindy Cheetham and children, Cody and Ryan Cheetham), Tyler Huie (Vanessa Huie), and Chris Carson (Karen Carson and children, Beau and Sophia Carson).

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 1:00PM at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, where he will he laid to rest alongside his loving parents, in Huntington, West Virginia, with Rev. Connie Walls officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Senior Services Inc., 2895 Shorefair Dr NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27105, who provided Dave with loving care for the past twenty-four years. This wonderful organization has been instrumental in Dave’s care and the care of so many others.
