Mr. Paul Edward ""Butch"" Brewer 71, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning June 7, 2016 at Hospice and Palliative Care. Known to everyone as Butch, he was retired from the linoleum and tile business. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. To those closet to his heart, he was called ""Pops."" He was a loving and generous husband, dad, grandad, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed gospel music and taking care of the birds, collecting coins and baseball cards. He was always ready to lend a helping hand without anything in return. He enjoyed giving everyone a nickname and playing pranks. He loved sports, playing softball in his younger days and was an avid New York Yankee and Duke fan. Butch had a special friend, Mrs. Betty Swett, who baked his favorite cakes. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Melvin Brewer, his sons Brent ""Shorty"" (Allison)Brewer, and Brian ""Buz"" (Marlene) Brewer, his brothers and sisters Jim (Gail) Brewer, Eva (Wiley) Tuttle, Eula (Gary) Sapp, Irene (Raymond) Freeman, and his grandchildren Jackson, Jenna, Ciera, Tatum, Sierah, Ayden, Carly, Brennan. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edward and Pearl Phelps Brewer. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hospice and Palliative Care for their care and compassion with special mention to one Angel ""Lilly."" Thanks for all the prayers, visits, and kindness shown. Rest in peace my love. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the Brewer family.
