Paul Morris Hall, 87, formerly of Warner Rd., Pfafftown, went to be with his Lord Sunday, November 23, 2014 surrounded by a host of his loving family and two pastors. Paul was born April 21, 1927 to H.B. and Myrtle Hall and spent his growing up years in Winston Salem. Preceding him in death were his parents and only sibling, Christine Hall Dunn. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Peggy Ann Baucom; four sons, twelve grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Paul was a loving man. He cared deeply for his wife whom he married March 2, 1947 and was extremely proud of his sons, daughters-in-law, and their children: Paul David (Carolyn) of Pfafftown and Stumpy Point, NC; their sons Andrew and Brian (Tiffany) and their girls Madison and Brianna; Stephen Craig (Virginia ""Ginny"") of Katy, TX and their children Jason (Terri) of Katy and Tiffany (Kyle) Warren and their children Samantha and Christopher of Waco, TX; Michael Lee (Angela) of Pfafftown and their son Zachary (fiancé Katelyn Schultz), Randall Morris (Jacqueline ""Jackie"") of Dunwoody, GA and their children Christian (Morgan) Grant of Ogden, UT; Jennifer (Stephen) Knapp of Jacksonville, FL and son Tanner; Kara, Victoria, Daniel, Joshua and Jonathan of Dunwoody. Paul and Peggy claim Charlene and Steve Patrick of Houma, LA their ""adopted"" children. Paul is also survived by loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews who cared deeply for him and has strong ties with relatives in North Wilkesboro. Paul was passionately patriotic. He served in the Navy during World War II, and in the Naval Reserve from which he was called to active duty during the Korean conflict and to service in Japan 1955-57. He joined the Air Force in 1957, retiring in 1971 with over 20 years of service. Paul was a godly man. In Japan, he was a leader at the Christian Serviceman's Center in Yokosuka. He was ordained a Baptist minister in 1960 while stationed in Arkansas, where he helped start and then served as pastor of Cocklebur Baptist Church and pastored Suisun Baptist Mission in Fairfield, CA. While stationed in Panama he helped build and renovate several native churches. After retiring from service, Paul served as pastor of Danbury Baptist Church for about ten years. While a member of Pfafftown Baptist Church he helped start and faithfully served in a mobile home park ministry. At his death, Paul was an active member of Old Town Baptist Church until his health deteriorated. Paul was a hard working business man. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he was employed at Goltra, Inc., eventually becoming co-owner. He was co-founder with son Michael of Lenawee, Inc., a real estate company. Paul was a courageous man. He endured and overcame many health problem, not allowing them to prevent him from being faithful to his family, church or business commitments. Paul was a humble man, not wanting any recognition of his many achievements. He was also a grateful man. Almost to his last breath Paul expressed thanks to anyone who performed even the smallest act of kindness to him. A visitation will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 6:00-8:00pm. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Old Town Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Speas and Rev. Will Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Old Town Baptist Church's Acts 1:8 Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice. Special thanks to many superb care givers who came to the home these past two years to care for him and to the staff and nurses at Forsyth Medical Center's Palliative Care Unit and at the Kate B.
