Paul Otis Howell

Mr. Paul Otis Howell 86, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at his home. He was born in Yadkin County on October 17, 1930 to Joshua David and Elsie Barneycastle Howell. Mr. Howell attended Waughtown Baptist Church and worked with the special friends ministries. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Jackie Smith on December 28, 1951 who survives, also surving are a daughter, Susan (Keith) Wagoner, a grandson, Paul Wagoner, a great-granddaughter, Savannah Wagoner, a brother-in-law, Michael (Beverly) Smith, two sisters-in-law, Bessie Howell and Ina Howell. Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers and sisters, Gladys (Claude) Hamby, Willie (Ellie) Howell, John ""Mott"" (Helen) Howell, Audrey (Clint) Groce, David Howell, Virginia (John) Seats, Louise (Nelson) Maynard, J.C. Howell, and Gean (Barbara) Howell. His funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Eddie Brackett and Rev. Billy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Waughtown Community Church Ministries, c/o Waughtown Baptist Church, 1538 Waughtown Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
