Paul Rogatsios

Mr. Paul Gus Rogatsios, 84, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018, surrounded by family and friends following a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's. Paul was born in Viniani, Evrytania, Greece on June 26, 1934, to Konstantinos and Evangelia Kroustalis Rogatsios. Immigrating to the United States at the age of 17, Paul quickly immersed himself in the restaurant business. As a successful restauranteur, he left a notable mark in the Winston-Salem and surrounding communities. Throughout his working career, Paul co-owned and operated Morris Service in Downtown Winston-Salem, Cloverdale Kitchen, and King Kitchen in King, North Carolina. He was devoted member of the local Greek Orthodox Church where he served as a member of the parish council and the Evrytanian Association of America. Following his retirement in 1998, Paul consumed himself with what he loved most, his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend to everyone he came in contact with. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Bessie Rogatsios; son, Dean Rogatsios and wife Cameron of King; daughter, Stacey Karagiorgis and husband Nick of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren, Paul Rogatsios, Sam Rogatsios and wife Emily, Stavros Karagiorgis, Victoria Karagiorgis and Max Rogatsios; three great grandchildren: McKenzie, Mallory and Henry Rogatsios; several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by all for his faith, love of family, and sense of humor. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, from 10:30am until 11:00am, with a Trisagion Service at 11:00am, at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (435 Keating Drive in Winston-Salem). A funeral service will follow at the church at 12:00pm with Father Costa Shepherd and Father George Vlahos officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Online
