Mrs. Pauline “Polly” Marie Wood Eads, age 92, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Trinity Glen Nursing Facility where she was a most loved resident of 7 years.
Pauline was a devoted and faithful member of New Friendship Baptist Church prior to her decline in health. She retired from Surry Community College with 27 faithful years serving as a library technical assistant.
In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger Crissman Eads; and seven siblings.
Surviving family members remaining to cherish Pauline’s memory include a brother, AL (Ruthie) Wood of Statesville, NC; and eight nephews, Daryl (Sharon) Carter, who cared for Aunt Polly as a mother, Douglas (Betty Jo) Carter of Charlotte, NC, Mark (Beverly) of Stony Point, NC, Michael (Joanie) Wood of Statesville, NC, Bobby (Lisa) Wood of Mocksville, NC, Aaron Wood of Asheville, NC, Jeff (Angie) of Statesville, and Howard Wood of Statesville, NC; two nieces, Tonya Wood of Statesville, NC, and Judy Wiest of Mocksville, NC; as well as multiple great nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished dearly.
A funeral service will be held for Pauline on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at 12:00PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Chris Byrne officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service in the Dobson City Cemetery in Dobson, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Friendship Baptist Church, 4258 Old Lexington Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107, in memory of Pauline.
The family wishes to thank the faithful staff of Trinity Glen for their loving care and devotion to Aunt Polly. We know she was very loved by all. Also, we very much appreciate the Winston-Salem Hospice / Trellis team for end-of-life care.
