Pearl Whisenhunt

Mrs. Pearl Cockerham Whisenhunt, 90, went home to be with the Lord, August 18, 2017. She was born November 15, 1926 in Galax Virginia to the late Troy Cockerham and Betty Jane Cockerham. Pearl truly loved her family and church. She was a faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church and Heaven Bound Class for 57 years. Pearl's life can be best described as having a true "Servant's Heart". She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Nathaniel Whisenhunt Sr.; parents; one son-in-law, Larry West. Pearl is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Groce (Harold) of King; Wilma West of Winston-Salem; four sons, Jimmy Whisenhunt (Loretta) of Yadkinville, Clifton Whisenhunt Jr. (Rita) of Davidson County, Donnie Whisenhunt (Rhonda) of Pinnacle, Mark Whisenhunt (Jannette) of Winston-Salem; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Woodland Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park, Rural Hall, N.C. The family will receive friends Monday, August 21, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel Rural Hall from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the love and care given by the staff at Priddy Manor during Pearl's stay there.
