Pedro "Pete" Smith

Mr. Pedro ""Pete"" Smith and beloved Papa, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at his residence. He was born on July 3, 1931 in Surry County to Archie Irvine and Katherine Fain Smith. Mr. Smith retired from Winston-Salem Journal. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Wayne Smith; one brother, Coy Smith; one sister, Dorothy Leftwich. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Polly Smith of the home; a granddaughter, Amy Smith and husband Reed of Winston-Salem; one great-grandson, Donovan Hutchins; one sister, Betty Goins; special niece, Inez Gates and husband Van Gough.
