Peggy Elaine Reavis Puckett

Mrs. Peggy Elaine Reavis Puckett, 81, of Yadkinville, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at home surrounded by her loved ones, following a long battle with dementia. She was born on December 27, 1944, to the late Oscar Monroe Reavis and Mary Francis Holt Reavis in Rowan County.

She was employed with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company for over 35 years before retiring. Following retirement came her greatest joy; when she began to care for her youngest grandson, Jacob, while his parents worked.

Peggy also began quilting and became an avid quilter, making quilts for new babies and weddings for family members. She was also a licensed beautician and enjoyed going to nursing homes to fix the residents’ hair; she loved working with the elderly.

In her younger years, she was adventurous. She loved camping with her family and kayaking down the river with her husband, Rudy and son, Rodney. Peggy had a kind and giving heart and would always give to others, even when she had little left to give herself. .

Above all, Peggy loved the Lord and we know she’s in the arms of Jesus, no more pain and no more confusion.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by a daughter, Gina Puckett McBride and a brother, Billy Monroe Reavis.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Zennie Rudolph “Rudy” Puckett of Winston-Salem; her children, Theresa McCollum (Mike) of Florence, SC; Tammy Newsome (Barry) of the home and Rodney Puckett (Ashley) of Winston-Salem, NC; grandchildren, Dusty McCollum (Lori) of Chesapeake VA, Benjamin McCollum (Katie) of Lexington, SC, Russell McBride (Anna) of Madison, NC, Ashley McBride Bowman (Denny) of Madison, NC, Justin Sheppard (Katie) of Mocksville, NC, Cameron Sheppard of Yadkinville, NC, Kimberly Slate (Jonathan) of Statesville, NC, Joseph Myers (Elizabeth) of Winston-Salem, NC, Todd Myers (Nikki) of Advance, NC, and Jacob Puckett of Winston-Salem.

Also left to cherish her memory are her great grandchildren, Rachael, Gavin, Emmalyn, Maggie, Beatrice, Kelsey, Kylee, Payton, Dalana, Bodie, Jackson, Lilliana, Bryson, Samantha, Halie, Chloe, Dennis, and Tyler; sister-in-law, Nancy Myers Reavis; nephews, Billy Todd Reavis and Stephen Monroe Reavis; two great nephews; six great-great nieces and nephews; and three wonderful ladies that she grew to love as her family, Joann Smith, Katherine Parrish and Patricia Shores. Finally, her protector to the very end and the love of her life, her chihuahua, Chester.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Parklawn Memorial Park with Pastor Robert “Rocky” Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm~4:00pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
