Peggy Stuart

Chantilly, VA- Mrs. Peggy Marie Woodard Stuart, 79, passed away Thursday, June 21. 2018 at her residence. She was born April 7, 1939 in Pender County, NC, the daughter of Warren and Lily Potter Woodard. She was a graduate of Mineral Springs High School and accomplished further education at Northern Virginia Community College. Peggy was retired from the Fairfax County Water Authority. Her passion was gardening, and she was an accomplished Master Gardener with Fairfax County. She participated in the Red Hat Society and has lived in Winston-Salen, NC, Ft Bragg, NC, Thailand, El Paso, TX, Cincinnati, OH, Oakton, VA, Fairfax, VA and Chantilly, VA. She loved her family; her extended family as well; always keeping in touch with cards to every single member. She traveled with her husband to Thailand, Hawaii, Geneva, Paris, Mexico and England. She was gentle, graceful, gracious, loving, generous and patient. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Raymond Warren Stuart and two sisters, Laura Brendle and Sue Maxwell. Survivors include her husband, R. Wally Stuart; her daughter, Laura Reidenbach and husband, Gary of Alexandria, VA; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Wiener of Chantilly, VA; three grandchildren, Lyndsy-Marie Carson, Madeleine and Emma Reidenbach; two great grandchildren, Cordylia and Niklaus Carson; a brother, Gid Woodard and a sister, Shirley Swaim. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Doug Klein officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
