Peggy Wheeler

Mrs. Peggy Jo Dockery Wheeler, 89, of Lewisville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Peggy was born in Fayette, Alabama on July 20, 1928, to the late Thomas Lester Dockery and Mae Irene Boger Dockery. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Peggy loved her family and taking care of them was her life's work. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Henry Clayton Wheeler. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Penney; one son, Gerald Wheeler (Karen); five grandchildren, Leslie Mahon (Greg), Kyle Wheeler, Ryan Wheeler, Neill Penney (Katharine), and Daniel Penney (Sandra); five great-grandchildren, Sarah, Georgia, Georgina, Victoria, and Megan; one sister, Pat Atchley; and one half-brother, Roger Dockery. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Pastor Clarence Huie officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at Pennybyrn at Maryfield for the loving care they provided to Peggy.
