Peter Gilbert Warner

Peter Gilbert Warner, 82, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, August 08, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. Pete was born March 26, 1943, in Albany, NY to the late Peter and Gertrude Hallenbeck Warner. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janet Hoerning Warner of Kernersville, NC; son, Peter M. Warner and wife, Debbie of Liberty Hill, TX; daughter, Tara Warner Kercheval and husband, Jason of Kernersville, NC; and six grandchildren, Theo Warner, Matthew Warner, Reagan Kercheval, Deborah Anne Warner, Travis Warner, and Andrew Kercheval.

Pete graduated from The University of GA in 1965 and made his career with LifeSavers as a Quality Assurance Manager. His children remember fondly the boxes of LifeSavers candy and gum that would come home to them! He spent half of his life living in upstate NY and the other half in Kernersville, NC. Pete very much loved his family, looked forward to holiday gatherings, taking family photos, and spending time with his six grandchildren, two of which he and Janet helped babysit for many years. He was a big fan of DIRT Modified racing in the Northeast for much of his adult life. The family fondly remembers Saturday nights at the races, particularly Fonda Speedway in Fonda, NY. He will be dearly missed.

A private graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, August 14, 2025. Memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103, who took such excellent care of Pete during his last four weeks.
