Philip Long

Mr. Philip Dumont Long, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 23, 2018 at his home. He was born in Forsyth Co. on April 7, 1962 the son of Jack Dumont Long and Doris Choplin Long-Williams. Philip retired from AT&T and was currently working for Forsyth Co. Parks and Recreation. He was an associate member of Mizpah Moravian Church in Rural Hall. Philip was a gentle soul and loved spending time with his family and playing music with his band "Nine Lives". He loved playing his guitar and fishing. Philip was preceded in death by his father, Jack Dumont Long. He is survived by his mother, Doris Choplin Long-Williams; a sister, Jackie Lankford (Chris); a brother, George Michael Long (Phyllis); two nieces, Brandy L. Hooker (Ben) and Anna E. Lankford; and two nephews, Charles Long (Amy) and Joseph Lankford; four great-nephews; one great niece; and a close cousin and friend, Phillip Daniels. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Mizpah Moravian Church with Rev. Fran Saylor officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service at Mizpah Moravian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mizpah Moravian Church, 3165 Mizpah Church Rd. Rural Hall, NC 27045.
