Philip Robert Maas, 87, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born in Berwyn, Illinois on September 14, 1938, to the late Harold and Elizabeth Kuhlman Maas. Philip proudly graduated from Butler University in 1961 with a degree in Marketing. He served a brief stint with the U.S. Army protecting the Panama Canal from 1961-1963. He then embarked on a career with RJR Tobacco retiring after over 34 years. Philip enjoyed traveling with his wife, fishing with his buddies and never missed watching his beloved Chicago Bears play. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Joyce Maas; two daughters, Donna Maas and Karen Edwards (John); four grandchildren, Holly Giaquinto (Kyle), Clay Thompson (Makinzie), Steven Edwards, and Evan Edwards; great-grandchild, Hattie Giaquinto and sister-in-law, Lynne Ruffolo (Raymond).

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Clemmons Moravian Church Graveyard with Rev. Christopher C. Thore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior in the church parlor at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Clemmons Moravian Church, PO Box 730 Clemmons, NC 27012.
