Philip Eugene Galyan, 72, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014. He was born to the late Harley and Edith Galyan on March 27, 1942 in Bloomington, IN. Phil graduated from University High School in Bloomington, IN and received the Al Herman award for best all-around athlete of University High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He went on to attend Indiana University and received a MBA in Business. Phil retired from R.J. Reynolds with 30 years of employment. Phil was an active member of the Linville Forest Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and an elder. He enjoyed coin collecting, rock collecting, and traveling to the beach and on cruises. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Phyllis Clayton. Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Wanda; his children, Christine Galyan of Winston-Salem, Heather Philippi and husband Brent of Charlotte and Rob Galyan of Winston-Salem; his three grandchildren, Tyler Galyan, Justin Philippi and Cooper Galyan. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Linville Forest Church of Christ with Kelly Brown officiating.
