Phillip Swaim

Mr. Phillip Thomas Swaim, 80, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at his home. He was born February 20, 1938 in Forsyth County. Mr. Swaim was a veteran of the U.S. Army who loved the outdoors especially farming and enjoyed antique cars. He was a loving father and papaw. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Thelma Brown Swaim and his second wife, Judy Willard Swaim and two brothers, Ed and Joe Swaim. Surviving are two sons, Mark Swaim and Chad Swaim; four grandchildren, Justin, Chandler, Colton, and Tyler. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Pachold, Paula Norman, RN and the staff at the Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center for all the special care given to Mr. Swaim. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Novant Health Derrick L. Davis Cancer Center or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
