Belews Creek- Mr. Phillip Kerry Venable, 78, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025. He was born October 27, 1946, in Forsyth County, the son of Reid and Lottie Stevens Venable. He attended Faith Baptist Church and was a graduate of East Forsyth High School. Mr. Venable was also a graduate of the Phillip Morris Agricultural Leadership Development Program. He raised soybeans in recent years but was a well-known and longtime tobacco farmer as well as being a Licensed General Contractor and Land Developer. He also owned Venable & Son Auto Sales in Walnut Cove. Mr. Venable was the Chairman of the Forsyth County Zoning Boad of Adjustments for over 30 years. His work was his passion, and he had a “Heart of a Lion.” Above all else, he was devoted to making sure his family was well taken care of. Mr. Venable was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Benny Venable and R.J. Venable, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Bonnie White Venable; a son, Phillip Kerry “Two“ Venable, II of Belews Creek and two grandchildren, Phillip “Tripp” Kerry Venable, III and AnnaMae Venable. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Kenny Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the funeral home.
