Mr. Prentice Jacobs, 85, passed away May 31, 2017 at Brighton Gardens in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born in Robeson County to the late Holden and Leola Jacobs. He retired as co-owner of Big Winston Tobacco Warehouse and was employed at Imperial Vault Company after many years of dedicated service to both companies. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Tom, Ledger, NL, Langum; one sister, Annie Neal. He is survived by his loving wife Mary ""Mickey""; two sons, Dean Jacobs (Lu), Charles Jacobs; five daughters, Toni Overman (Dean), Teri Poindexter (Joey), Teresa Butner (Keith), Paula Boyles (Duane), Joyce Hankins (Bo); one brother, Larry Jacobs; three sisters, Brenda Demery, Ruth Sanderson, Cathy Brayboy; nine grandchildren, Eric Hicks, Bryan Shaffner, Amy Shaffner, Austin Jacobs, Garrett Jacobs, Chrystal Jacobs Parnell, Derek Poindexter, Brooke Hankins, Justin Hankins; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel Rural Hall with Rev. John E. Hackworth, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem with Military Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 noon.
