Raj Kumar Arora (54), passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 2, 2018. He was born on April 1, 1964 in Nakodar, Punjab (India) to Pritamchand and Krishnadevi Arora. At an early age, Raj came to the United States with his brother Ashok to New York City where they worked together and learned the restaurant business. Raj moved to Winston-Salem in 2001, where he and his wife Nisha opened and ran their own restaurant, Nawab Indian Cuisine. He also opened and successfully ran restaurants in Atlanta (GA) and Boone (NC). He always involved himself with the local community, be it religious or cultural events or building brotherhood amongst one and all. Raj was a gregarious and selfless man who was always up for a challenge. He loved riding his motorcycle with his son Manhar and traveling around the country and the world with family & friends. He had a passion for experiencing new things and liked to play golf as well as go for an outdoor adventure at the first available opportunity. He was a strong-minded man who was deeply devoted to his family. He helped one and all to establish them in their fields to the best of his ability and made available all possible resources at the drop of a hat. He was the go to person for the entire family as they knew they could always count on him to provide the best solution for anything be it a serious matter or a fun trip with the family or even organizing a great get together for the kids. He knew how to be the perfect host and make one and all comfortable. He is survived by his wife Nisha and his sons Manhar and Amrit of Lewisville and by his parents Pritamchand and Krishnadevi of Williamsburg, VA; his brother Ashok & Neeru Arora and five sisters (Veena & Ashok Chhabra, Praveen & Ashok Makkar, Sita & Ravi Grover, Gita & Sanjeev Arora, Rajni & Sandeep Baweja) and 16 nieces and nephews.
