CREWS - WINSTON-SALEM Mr. Ralph Hiatt Crews passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at his home. He was born on December 24, 1916 in Forsyth County to the late Amanda Cobbler Crews and John Peyton Crews. Mr. Crews retired as a supervisor from Kraft Foods (Sealtest Division) with over 30 years of service and he also owned Crews' Colonial Crafts. He was a dedicated member of the Winston-Salem Rescue Squad for 61 years and in the most recent years, he sat on the Board of Directors. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crews was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine C. Crews; granddaughter, Ronda Blaylock; son-in-law, Charles Blaylock; and four siblings. Surviving are three daughters: Lynne Blaylock, Sandra Camp, and Vicky Thomas (Mark); four grandchildren: Mark Lee Thomas, Robert Thomas, Kevin Thomas, and Sherry Leonard (Tobin); and three great-grandchildren: Tyler, Jacob, and Kylie. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2013 at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Herb Mabe officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, September 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
