Ralph William Doby

KERNERSVILLE - Ralph William Doby, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at his home. He was born June 07, 1934 in Surry Co. to the late Virgil Hobert and Lula Mary Wright Doby.

Mr. Doby was an active member of Kerwin Baptist Church. Ralph loved working in the yard and gardening but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Gerline Goins Doby; son, William Gray Doby and wife, Jean; daughter, Vivian Ann Bass and husband, Jimmy; grandchildren, Renee Hayden, Randall Doby, Amanda Anthony, Brandon Bass; great-grandchildren, Amber Hayden, Matthew Hayden, Isabelle Anthony; and brother, Kenneth Doby and wife, Laura.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014 at Kerwin Baptist Church with Dr. Joe Myers and Pastor Daniel Hawtree, II officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
