Ralph Andrew Helderman

Ralph Andrew Helderman, 89, of Winston-Salem passed away peacefully from an extended illness. He was born on January 27, 1927 in Mecklenburg County to Richard Fuller and Ora Pearl Flowers Helderman. Mr. Helderman served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie. Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Mock and husband Jerry, Miriam Ward and husband Al; one sister, Lucille Oliver; four granddaughters; three great granddaughters and three great grandsons. A graveside will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Walter Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 1:30pm on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Heart Association 4217 Park Place Court Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979 or to American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
