Ralph Carlton Lawson went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2014.
He was born on July 8, 1927 in Forsyth County to Paul C. Lawson and Ida L. Lawson.
He attended Walkertown High School, served in the U.S. Army and retired after 32 years from Western Electric Co. After retirement he enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends, fishing, collecting and trading antiques and other collectibles. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith Brann and Shirley Hester; brother, Paul Lawson Jr.; adoptive son, Bill Knouse.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Della Andrews Lawson; son, Stephen Craig Lawson and wife, Terri, of Madison; three beloved grandchildren, Jodie L. Travis of Clemmons, Chris Lawson of Bethesda, MD, Kevin Lawson of Cary; three great-grandchildren, Amber Travis of Summerfield, Makayla Moore and Jayden Lawson of Clemmons; adoptive children Joe and Jane Knouse; brother, Kenneth Lawson; brother-in-law, T.D. Brann; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends; and loyal fur-buddy, Dee-Dee, which he ""wouldn't trade for Reynolds Tobacco Company."" A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
