Ramona Rominger Johnson

Ramona Rominger Johnson of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2026.

Ramona was born on January 25, 1943, to the late Harvey and Ila Rominger. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kermit Johnson; her infant son, Kermit Johnson, Jr.; her daughter, Karen Williams; her son-in-law, Larry Williams; and her brother, Kenneth Rominger.

Ramona graduated from Griffith High School. She also graduated from Barbizon Beauty School and later retired from the school after serving as its Finance Director.

She was a faithful member of Hanes Baptist Church, where she attended regularly alongside her daughter, Karen, until Ramona’s health began to decline. Her faith was an important part of who she was and how she lived her life.

Following retirement, Ramona and Kermit spent many wonderful years living part-time in Daytona Beach, Florida. They were devoted NASCAR fans, and Daytona Beach was the perfect place for them to enjoy a lifestyle centered around something they both loved.

Of all the things Ramona accomplished in her life, her greatest joy was being a mother to Kermit, Jr. and Karen. While her family grieves her passing, there is comfort in knowing that Ramona is now reunited with her devoted husband and both her children.

Above all, Ramona loved Jesus. Before her health declined, you could often find her sitting at her dining room table studying her well-worn and “very marked-up” Bible. She loved talking about what Jesus had done for her and sharing His goodness with others. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about—it was woven throughout her life.

Ramona’s family takes comfort in knowing that the Jesus she loved, studied, talked about, and trusted throughout her life has now welcomed her home.
