Randy Blaine Christley

Randy Blaine Christley, 74, a resident of Lexington, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Randy was born on August 7, 1951, in Davidson County, North Carolina, to the late Carl “Curly” Sylvester Christley, Sr. and Grace Howell Christley.

A graduate of Lexington Senior High School, Randy played football during his school years and remained a lifelong sports fan. He especially loved the Washington Redskins/Commanders, NC State, and the Atlanta Braves. He could often be heard passionately coaching his teams from the comfort of his recliner. Whether the teams ever followed his advice remains unclear, but he offered it anyway. He also enjoyed playing golf in his younger years and continued following the sport throughout his life. His love of sports, especially Atlanta Braves baseball, was passed down to his daughter, Angel.

Randy worked at Billings Trucking for a time before becoming a truck driver for Lexington Furniture Industries. After furniture manufacturing left Lexington, he drove for Johnson Concrete. He was a hardworking man who deeply loved his family. Though life was not always easy, Randy made sure his wife and daughters were cared for and provided for. His family never doubted how much he loved them.

Randy’s faith in Jesus Christ was a guiding force throughout his life. He loved the Lord deeply and sought to live each day in a way that reflected his faith and values.

He also had a love for science fiction, fantasy, and crime shows a passion he shared with his middle and youngest daughters. Whitney especially credits her father for her lifelong love of Star Wars and Anna with her love for reading.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Christley; and sisters, Shelley Robertson and Bonita Royall.

Left to cherish his memory are: his wife of 40 years, Cindy Lopp Christley of the home; daughters, Angel Queen (Gene) of Tyro, Whitney Everhart (Stephen) of Lexington, and Anna Hedrick (Ethan) of Durham; grandsons, Andrew Queen (Alicen) and Cameron Queen (Hannah Martineau); brother, Carl “Jody” Christley, Jr. (April) of Welcome; a sister-in-law, Donna Lopp; brother-in-law, Ricky Lopp; and his best K9 buddy, Zeb; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, June 5th, 2026 in the Lexington City Cemetery with Pastor Andrew Misenhimer officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Carolina Senior Care for all the support and assistance they have given over the years.
