Raymer Galen Dilworth

R. Galen Dilworth of Winston Salem, of Kernersville, of Korea, of Thailand, of the Philippines, and of the famed Intramural Badminton Team of NC State University, concluded his adventures in this life at his home on March 25, 2026. The only son of Raymer and Queenie Dilworth, Galen was a proud mechanical engineer who traveled the world, yet always carried the dust of Forsyth County embedded deeply in his bones. Galen rarely spoke with too much detail about the places he lived and visited; he spoke often and with great joy about the people he knew and visited. He loved his friends with a quiet passion, something akin to the heat within a Dutch oven as it sits in the coals. For a man who lived all over the world, he was always at home when at the table with his friends. He is survived by many who called Galen their friend. A graveside service will be held at 11AM Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Friends will gather after the service at the grave.
