Raymond Clifford Goode

On April 11, 2016, Raymond Clifford Goode left this earth and joined his Lord, Jesus Christ, in Heaven. Raymond was a very loving man, showing a love found in I Corinthians 13 of his family, friends, and his Lord, Jesus Christ. We now rejoice that after years of deteriorating health, Raymond is now healed and reunited with his wife, Isadora Goode, and family members who have gone before him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Raymond lived a life of great love and will be dearly missed until we see him again. ""and now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love."" I Corinthians 13:13. Raymond was born in Rocky Mount, VA on August 7, 1926 to the J. Raymond and Delle Mae Goode. In addition to his parents and his wife, Raymond was preceded in death by his siblings, Aubrey Goode, Vestie Bennett, Clarice Cundiff, Edgar Goode, Patrick Goode, Kathleen Allison, Albert Goode and Nora Lee Buck. Raymond worked for Hennis Freight Lines until his retirement in 1974. He was a longtime member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Winston-Salem. A World War II veteran, Raymond served in the U.S. Army for two and a half years and was very proud to have served his country as a M.P. Surviving is his daughter, Bonnie (Don) Jones of Advance; son, Bob (Pattie) Goode of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Clay (Jennifer) Jones, Andrew (Brandy) Jones, Ashley (Jake) Furbee, and John goode; three great-grandchildren, Conner, Caleb, and Harper Jones; sister, Zora Roberson; brother, Randy Goode. A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Tim Wolfe and Rev. Ken Dees officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box, 5252, Winston-Salem, NC 27113.
