Reba Burke

Mrs. Reba Elizabeth "Lib" T. Burke, 92, passed peacefully Monday, September 25, 2017 at her home. She was born May 17, 1925 in Davidson County, the daughter of Robert and Hattie Lambeth Tesh. She was a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church; owned and operated a Beauty Salon for years and enjoyed flower gardening. She along with her husband an avid golfer, she enjoyed an occasional round of golf and was awarded the MMO Championship of 1968. She also enjoyed basket making, chair canning and ceramics. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Emory Samuel Burke, Jr.; four sisters, Lucille (Pert) Hill, Dorothy (Ira) Nifong, Etta (Louis) Austin and Virginia Tesh and a brother, Robert Samuel (Eva) Tesh. Elizabeth is survived by her nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, September 29, 2017 at New Philadelphia Moravian Church with Dr. Worth Green officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Lib was gracefully loved and cared for by C.J. Fowler and her staff at Miss Daisy Caregiver Co. of Winston-Salem. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Philadelphia Moravian Church, 4400 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104, Hospice and Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or a charity of one's choice.
