Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Crews Whitaker

Rebecca “Becky” Lynn (Crews) Whitaker, 73, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, went to her heavenly home on November 2, 2026. She was a cherished wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and her love will continue to be felt by those who knew her.

Becky devoted her life to helping others, not only through her 20+ years in the medical field but also through her selfless and consistent acts of compassion. She left the world a better place in many ways, especially through her gift-giving, caring for loved ones, spoiling her family with her delicious cooking, and sharing kind words with strangers. 

Becky is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ken Whitaker; her two sons, Mike and Chris Whitaker; brother, David Crews and wife, Betta (Kimsley, Miranda); sister-in-law, Melinda Crews (Brittany); niece, Jodie Moorefield; brother-in-law, Greg Whitaker and wife, Maura (Mason, Ross); and sister-in-law, Anne Whitaker Carroll and husband, Russ (Lindsey, Lexie); along with many other special family members, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Glenn Crews and Mary Jane Harkey Crews, as well as her brother, Mike and sister, Beverly.

In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Samaritan’s Purse, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or another charity of choice. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
