Rebecca Jane "Becky" Wilson Burton

Mrs. Rebecca Jane ""Becky"" Wilson Burton passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center after a long illness. She was born in Forsyth County on July 6, 1945 to the late Kermit Odell Wilson Sr. and Ouida Morris Wilson. She graduated from Walkertown High School and attended Mitchell College. Becky was raised as a member of Love's United Methodist Church for 15 years and the past 49 years she has been a loyal member of Marshall Baptist Church. Becky retired from Central YMCA with 17 years of service. She was a member of the Walkertown Civic Club for more than 20 years. Becky loved to travel, take cruises, and long fishing trips with her husband.

In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by a brother, K. O. Wilson, Jr.; step-father, Glen Jonas; and a nephew, Brian Cook. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Earl Lee Burton; two sons, Derrick C. Burton and wife Miriam and Troy W. Burton and wife Margie; six grandchildren: Amanda Hobbs, Alex Burton, Angel Money, Jonathon Wilson, Kaylynn Pendergrass, and Tonya Deblasio; two great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters; brother, Jerry M. Wilson and wife Alice; niece, Tammy Schemtsch and husband Richie; three nephews: Tim Wilson and wife Lisa, Michael Cook and wife Janice, and Kent Cook and wife Myra.

A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 4 at Marshall Baptist Church with the Rev. John Holmes and the Rev. Milton Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 3 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
