Rebecca Ruth Sechrest

Rebecca Ruth Sechrest, 78, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Hospice Home of High Point. She was born on March 23, 1948, in Alamance County, NC to the late Ralph Albert and Audrey Pyrtle Sechrest. Becky was a God-fearing Christian, who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a member for many years at Pine Grove Methodist Church and attended services at The Summit Church regularly. Becky was a hard and honest worker, raising her children on her own while working full-time and some part-time jobs. She worked for Grass America for 23 years. Becky was an avid baseball fan; she took delight in watching her children play when they were younger and watching the Atlanta Braves play. Becky loved her family unconditionally and would do everything she could for them. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who will greatly be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon Flynn Meeker.

Those left to cherish Becky’s memory are her two sons, Jay Flynn, and Rick Flynn (Dodie); four grandchildren, Amanda Vaughan (Ricky), Cody Vaughan (Kristyn), Jordan Flynn, and Conner Flynn; three great grandchildren, Declan Vaughan, Emilyn Vaughan, and Kaley Vaughan; and one cousin, Ronnie Pyrtle.

There will be no formal services. In Becky’s honor, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at https://www.heart.org/. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is proudly serving the family.
