Rebecca Long Spainhour Tuttle

Mrs. Rebecca Long Spainhour Tuttle, 98, passed away December 20, 2023. She was born December 7, 1925, in Tobaccoville, NC to the late Charles Wickom and Beulah Long Spainhour. Rebecca knew the Lord as her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful member at Macedonia Baptist Church where she served as the pianist and organist beginning in the early 1940’s.  Rebecca graduated salutatorian of her class in 1942 from Old Richmond High School. After graduation she attended Draughan Business college and was an accomplished basketball player. Rebecca was employed at Hanes Knitting for several years, then 24 years at RJ Reynolds. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Howard A. Tuttle and sister, Doris Gibson. She is survived by her two sons, Gregory Howard Tuttle, MD (Rebecca) and Glenn Alexander Tuttle; four grandchildren, Trevor Stuart Tuttle (Amy) and their child, MacKinnley Lynn Tuttle, Nathan Forrest Tuttle (Persis), Matthew Josiah Tuttle, and Devon Micah Tuttle; and a sister, Bonnie Vogler. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Norman officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the church.
