RURAL HALL – Rev. James Ray Jarrell, 67, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. James was born on December 1, 1952 in Guilford County to the late Oscar and Geneva Dotson Jarrell. James’ heart was in his church. He was a member of True Love Church in High Point, where he served as the Praise Team Leader and was the Associate Minister for 10 years. He had a strong work ethic, working for Ingram Furniture as long as his health permitted. James loved the mountains, watching old westerns, and fishing, but his favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Becky Jarrell; two sons, Josh Jarrell (Olivia) and Zach Jarrell (Taylor); three grandchildren, Jase Jarrell, Allie Jarrell and Jax Jarrell; three sisters, Nancy Miller, Kathy Whitt, and Netta Spratt.
three brothers, Don, Darrell and Craig Jarrell; many nieces and nephews, including Patricia Hill and Peggy Richardson, who were extremely helpful to James during his illness; and a sister-in-law, Lynette Snider (Jeff).
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Tim Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
