Rex Hodges

Mr. Rex Thomas Hodges, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Universal Health Care in King. He was born in Forsyth Co. on July 23, 1936 the son of the late John and Jessie Collins Hodges. Rex was a lifelong bluegrass musician and song writer. He performed with Warren Beasley and the Bluegrass Country Five. Bluegrass music was his life. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Layell Hodges; a step-son, Jerald Ayers (Libby) of Clemmons and his guardian angels, Wanda and Rayne Doty of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
