Richard "Todd" Bottoms

Richard “Todd” Bottoms, 57, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in Charlotte at Levine & Dickson Hospice House.

Todd was born on June 11, 1968, to the late Robert Richard Bottoms and Joyce Cooke Bottoms. He was the owner and operator of Sentry Drafting and Design and earned his master’s degree from Appalachian State University.

Todd was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed softball, golf, and fishing. He was a man of strong faith, known for his sharp sense of humor and remarkable generosity. Todd shared a beautiful and loving relationship with his wife, Sherrie. She fondly remembers the thoughtful birthday decorations he would spend hours creating for her, as well as the “twelve days of Christmas” gifts he would hide throughout their home for her to discover.

In addition to his parents, Todd was preceded in death by his infant half-brother, Dustin Sean Allen.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Sherrie Petty Bottoms of the home; his sister, Tammy Speaks (Rodney); his nephew, Matthew Speaks (Carly); his great-nieces, Gabby and Izzy; his great-nephews, Tucker and Haddon; and his beloved fur-babies, Grace and Goku.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Matthew Speaks will officiate.
