Richard Keith Brown

OAK RIDGE -- Richard Keith Brown, 57, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. Rick was born December 29, 1955, in Guilford County to Tom and Carolyn Brown. He was employed by Southeastern Freight Lines for over 25 years, was owner of Brown Landscaping, and was a farmer. He was a deacon and active member of Central Baptist Church. He particularly loved the sport of baseball and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Tom Brown. Surviving are his loving wife, Debbie Yost Brown; a son, Andy Brown and wife Tammy of Kernersville; a daughter, Amber Middleton, and husband, Brian, of Oak Ridge; two grandchildren, Logan and Landis Middleton; his mother, Carolyn Clayton Brown, of Oak Ridge; brother, Tommy Brown and wife Teresa; sister, Sandra Smith, and husband Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Roy Carter and Tommy Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, PO Box 533, Oak Ridge, NC 27310, or the American Lung Association, 3801 Lake Boone Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607. The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Ennever and the staff at Wesley Long and the 2900 staff of Moses Cone for their compassionate care.
