Richard 'Dick' Edgar Caudle

PFAFFTOWN--Mr. Richard ""Dick"" Edgar Caudle, 85, of Pfafftown, NC, formerly of Kernersville, NC, went to Heaven on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Caudle was born on March 28, 1928 in Forsyth County to Lester Gray Caudle and Ruth Mae Windsor Caudle. Richard served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Piedmont Airlines after 39 years of service. Mr. Caudle was preceded in death along with his parents by his first wife of 34 years, Peggy Swaim Caudle. Mr. Caudle is survived by his second wife of 18 years, Scottie Caudle of Winston-Salem; one daughter, LuAnn Jones of Pfafftown, NC; a son, Steve Caudle (Vicky) of Moneta, VA; one step-daughter, Kathryn Davis (Mark) of Reidsville, NC; grandchildren, Brian Caudle (April), Amber Caudle Wright (Jamie), Shawn Jones and Heather Braddford (Bill); two step-grandchildren, Jay and Jonathan Davis; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Caudle (Jane) of Siloam, NC; and one sister, Helen Caudle Baity of Winston-Salem. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. John E. Hackworth, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM on Monday, January 6, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Robinhood Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 5422 Robinhood Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
