Richard Lee Evans

Winston-Salem – Mr. Richard Lee Evans, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at his residence. He was born on July 27, 1945, in Forsyth County, to Allie Russell Evans and Lillian Turner Evans. He was raised in the Methodist Children’s Home in Winston-Salem. Richard was a gunsmith for over 50 years and an avid collector of Western and Cowboy Memorabilia. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Delores Wrights Evans; one son, Paul Evans (Chris); two daughters, Ronda Jones (Tim) and Dianna Ranson (Nelson); one stepson, Anthony Evans (Sherry); grandchildren, Amber Hoots (Malachi) and Josh Evans (Jessica); his brother, Mike Evans (Ardith); one brother-in-law, Jeff Wrights; a nephew, John Wrights (Andy); and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service for Richard will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Mr. James Taylor officiating.
