Richard Nelson Beeson

Richard Nelson Beeson, 80, suddenly left his earthly life on Thursday, June 18, 2026. He was born in Oak Ridge, NC on March 25, 1946, to the late Clarence Arminius (Meanie) and Carrie Sapp Beeson, the 7th of 11 children. Richard graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1964 then joined the US Navy. He was a proud Vietnam veteran. In December of 1966, he married Sue Chandler Beeson, his high school sweetheart and love of his life.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, fishing, watching sports (especially Carolina Tarheels basketball), writing country songs, picking and grinning, raising the prized Beeson vegetables, and loving on his fur buddy, Copper.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Donnie, Frank, & Keith Beeson, his sister, Sibbie Beeson Prescott, and son, Richie Beeson.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sue; daughter, Heather Beeson (Jay) and two grandchildren, Kristen Beeson and Tyler Beeson (Emma). Also surviving are Richard’s brothers and sisters: Patsy Pegg (Bill), Carolyn Roddy, Monty Beeson (Regina), Jimmy Beeson, Randy Beeson (Linda), and Chris Beeson (Tami); brother-in-law, Zane Chandler as well as a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Richard will be greatly missed by all of us. Please join us on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Kernersville from 6-8 PM for visitation and his celebration of life service on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Pine Grove Methodist Church in Kernersville at 2 PM.
