Richard 'Bud' Shoemaker

Mr. Richard ""Bud"" Lee Shoemaker, 69, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his residence. He was born on February 16, 1944 in Forsyth County to Roy Lee Shoemaker and Avis Clark Shoemaker. Mr. Shoemaker was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was the co-founder and co-owner of Northside Glass with his brother Ken prior to retiring. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ranae Shoemaker; two brothers, Bill and Kenneth Shoemaker; and one sister, Francis Burbank. Surviving is his wife Carolyn Shoemaker of the home; one daughter, Sherri Hernandez and husband Alex of Winston-Salem; one granddaughter, Tiffany Hicks; one brother, Maurice Shoemaker of King; several very special nieces and nephews; his two dogs, Little Bit and Pugsley. A funeral service will held at 2:00PM on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Gary Styers officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, 1548 Old Hollow Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
