Richard "Dick" Calvin Tate

Kernersville – Richard “Dick” Calvin Tate, 86, went to his Heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, April 10, 2026. He was born on November 7, 1939, in Forsyth County to the late John Everett, Sr. and Agatha Taylor Tate.

Dick loved spending time outdoors; whether it was working, playing softball, or fishing. He enjoyed Mopar muscle cars and NASCAR. Dick was a very good, honest, hardworking man, and did so much work for Waughtown Baptist Church as a trustee and treasurer. He was an artist, which he enjoyed drawing and painting, and also had a dry sense of humor. Dick was a beloved husband, father, and friend, who will truly be missed by so many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Tate, Jr; and his two nephews, Craig Tate, and Steve Quinn.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 61 years, Jeanette Elliott Tate; his daughter, Andrea “Ande” Tate; and his two nieces, Sheila Blackmon, and Lenora Faller.
