Richard Clayton Teague, 77, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. He was born June 9, 1940 in Davidson County. Mr. Teague retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company (Archer Division) after 37 years of service. He was a former member of Pine Chapel Moravian Church and was currently a member of Friedberg Moravian Church. Mr. Teague was a 32nd degree Mason of Salem Lodge 289, the co-owner of Piper Club and flew out of airfield at Bermuda Run. He also ran a small antique business. He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Teague and Ella Catherine Swaim Teague and a brother, William Alton Teague. Survived by his devoted wife, Patricia; her children, Richard Lewter and wife Wanda of Saluda, VA, John Lewter and wife Carroll Ann of Fredericksburg, VA and Mary Sheldon and husband Keith of Toano, VA. Also surviving are his daughter, Sharon Fishel of Huntersville and his son, Richie Teague of Midway; grandchildren, Chelsea Hunt and husband Allen, Shelby, Mattie and Grace Lewter, Keith and Kolby Sheldon, Brent and Brandon Teague and Evan Fishel; a sister-in-law, Joyce Teague of Mocksville; nieces, Melanie Teague of Hickory, Shannon Aycock and husband Matt of Raleigh and great nephews, Sam and Franklin Aycock. He also leaves his devoted companion, Miss Betty. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Friedberg Moravian Church with Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. officiating.
