Ricky Harold Jenkins

Ricky Joe Hardwick, 74, a resident of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. Ricky was born in Chattanooga, TN, on April 18, 1952, to the late Ellis Eugene and Reva May Hardwick. He worked for Battery Watering Technologies for many years until his retirement.

Ricky loved his family immensely, especially his grandchildren, whom he cherished dearly. He also enjoyed taking trips with his family to the casino. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Wynn, and sister Nessie Wynn.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Frances “Fran” Hardwick; son, Daniel Bessey (Blair); grandchildren, Courtney (Lonnie), Brandon, Alexis, Addyson, Bridgett, Ethan, Cameron, and Payge; great-grandchildren, Abigayle and Elliott; sister, Tina Wynn and brother, Frank Wynn.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park.
