Ricky Miller

Walkertown – Mr. Ricky Allen Miller, 60, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a long battle with leukemia. He was born on August 31, 1958 in Tazwell County, VA to Gary Lester and Phyllis Justice Miller. Ricky was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. He loved guns, pocket knives, caps, camping and mountain biking. He also enjoyed working on cars and trucks.

Ricky was proceeded in death by one brother, Tracy Lee Miller. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; two sons, Brandon Miller (wife, Jennifer) and Justin Miller (wife, Brandi); three grandchildren, Walker, Loretta “Lettie”, and Bennett; one brother, Keith Miller; and many special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Ricky will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 8, 2019 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Shumate and Pastor Steve Roberson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends on Thusday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ricky’s name to The Cancer Center of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center at Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
