Rita Locklear

Ms. Rita Lain Locklear, 52, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. She was born on September 7, 1967 in Lumberton, NC to Graham and Nancy Locklear. She never met a stranger and was loved by everyone who met her. Rita enjoyed watching NASCAR and all other types of racing. She also always loved to watch Days of Our Lives. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Patricia Ann Bullard, and Marie Scott Bullard.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother, Graham Locklear, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Christina Lowery (BJ Maynor); a son, Donavan Chavis; seven siblings, Hedrick Locklear, Bobby Locklear, Clyde Locklear, Linda Locklear, Ronald Locklear, Dwayne Locklear and Thurman Scott; many nieces and nephews; her special friend and caregiver, Tina Allen; and her grand dogs, Star and Blue.

A family service will be held later. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
