Mrs. Robena Ransom Crim, 84, passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Oaks at Forsyth. She was born October 16, 1929 to Eva Motsinger Ransom and Howard M. Ransom. Mrs. Crim was a charter member of College Park Baptist Church, the Telephone Pioneers, and the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. She was a graduate of Lewisville High School and was employed by Western Electric, now Alcatel Lucent where she retired with 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, James Carlton Crim; and her sister, Doris Ransom Walker and husband Drewy. Survivors include her nephews, Mike Walker and wife Judy, and Jerry Walker and wife, Brenda; a special cousin Pat Thompson and husband Eddie of Georgia; and a special friend, Edith Jennings of Lewisville. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2014 at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum with Dr. Guy Hipp officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm Monday, prior to the graveside service, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to College Park Baptist Church, 1701 Polo Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
