Robert Daniel Crookshank 'Dan'

Robert Daniel Crookshank ""Dan' of Winston-Salem, NC died peacefully on January 1, 2013 at The Kate B Reynolds Hospice House after a courageous battle with stage four cancer. He was born in Winston-Salem on January 17, 1952 to Robert Richard Crookshank and Regina Malone Crookshank. Dan received a bachelor of science in business administration degree in Accounting from Appalachian University. He worked as an auditor for the city of Winston-Salem. He carried Route 6 in Wallburg NC for the United States Postal Service and various other routes for 28 years. He also kept financial records for Snyder's Fuel Oil Service for 22 years. He served on various Boards with many position in the North Carolina Rural Letter Carriers Association and was a board member and Vice President of the Triad Postal Credit Union. Dan was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church since birth, where he served as altar server, on the Parish Council, Financial Council for many years and was also involved with the Knights of Columbus. Dan was also a head Usher for many years. Dan was preceded in death by his father Robert Richard Crookshank (1981). Dan is survived by Elizabeth ""Liz"" Shaw Crookshank, his loving wife, and precious daughter Joanna Marie Crookshank of the home. He is also survived by his mother Regina Malone Crookshank of Winston-Salem, two brothers Richard Allen and wife Cheryl of Memphis TN, Paul James and wife Faith of St, Mary GA, three sisters Barbara Jean Crookshank and Joanne Hazel Slemp of Evans, GA and Donna Marie Murray and husband Raymond of Advance, NC. He is survived by a large family of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews who will also miss him greatly. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC. A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Dan's life will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 1730 Link Road, Winston-Salem, NC on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2730 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
