Robert Bradstock, Jr.

Dr. Robert Kenneth Bradstock, Jr., 73, passed away at his home on January 22, 2020. He was born in Pennsylvania on January 5, 1947 the son of the late Robert Kenneth Bradstock, Sr. and Frances Pell Bradstock. Ken was the last of the “Founding Fathers” of the village of Tobaccoville. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Ken worked with the Avery Co. and Forsyth Co. Sheriff’s Office for 17 ½ years and 10 years at Forsyth Tech as an advisor for student activities. He also served as Chaplain for Hospice for a little over 10 years. Ken loved working with his hands in the yard, writing, loved animals and photography. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kayla Bradstock; and an uncle, Bill Pell. Ken is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy “Dottie” Bradstock; two sons, Robert “Rusty” Bradstock (Caroline) and Paul Franklin Bradstock (Nicole); his mother, Frances Pell Bradstock; an adopted son, Kenneth Charles Bradstock (Wendy); three grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Ann Bradstock (Dennis Paul Mauk); and a K-9 companion, Suzie Q. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Sussanah Ravenswing officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Trellis Supportive Care, Arc Life Guardianship, Southern Poverty Law Center or St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
